Cropping Image Data
To reduce the size of image data that is loaded, you can select a portion of the data that will be imported in the Crop the Image dialog, shown below. You should note that while the window readily displays X and Y portions with crop lines, the Z portion is not so easily shown. The box labeled Z dimension (slices) is where the Z axis is cropped. Use the first slider to define the range of the Z axis, and the second slider to scroll through the image slices.

Although the image may be scaled to fit in the window, the aspect ratio will be preserved.
How to Crop Image Data
- Click the Crop Image button on the last screen of the Import Datasets dialog.
The Crop the Image dialog appears.
- Navigate through the dataset with the Visible slice slider at the bottom of the dialog so that the image slice on which you plan to select the X and Y portions of the image is displayed.

- Adjust the bounding box so that the width and height of the image is cropped as required. Note that the selected range is displayed in the X and Y dimensions text boxes. You can also manually enter the required ranges.
- Select the range of image slices in the Z dimension that will be included in the cropped data. You can use the Cropping slider or enter the required range in the edit boxes.

- Scroll through the selected image slices to confirm that the image will be cropped as required, recommended.
- Click the OK button to set image cropping.
